Fishing with Grandpa.

One of my favorite memories growing up is fishing with my dad. Now my son gets to experience the same memories. Thanks dad I Love You!

There was still snow and Jourdon was swimming.

Mattie tends to her fish pile. She loves to get the suckers and stop them from flopping all over. Then she puts them in a pile.

Loosing his tail September 13th 2009.

He lost his tail while I was on vacation around the 19th. My dad took him down to the river and let him go. So I didn't get a final picture but it was neat to watch the transformation.

I am blessed.

I am blessed to live in such a great valley. You always hear about how beautiful Star Valley is and living here it is easy to take for granted the beauty that I live in. I started to try to be grateful for my surroundings and see God in all the things around me. Here is one of Gods blessing to me. This was taken June 18th 2009.

Preschool

Jourdon graduated from preschool on May 19th 2009. This was his first year of school he loved it. He attended in Afton because it worked out well with my store. Here are some pictures around school.

Visitor

One day while Jourdon and I were at the house by ourselves I looked out the front door and there was a furry little creature looking in the glass. I wasn't sure what it was and as I went to the door it ran off. To me it looked like a squirrel but I have never seen a squirrel at our house the whole time I have lived there. Well a couple of days later Mattie was going crazy running around the house and we soon found out why. This little guy was running about trying to find a place to hide. He was around for a couple of weeks after that but then disappeared.

Swimming Lessons

Jourdon started swimming lessons June 15th and ended on the 26th. It was really cold when he started but he was a trooper and they still swam in the cold. The last day did get rained out. He did really well and progressed this year so that he is okay to put his head under water and was blowing bubbles with his mouth. He loves to use the kick board to swim on his own.
A warm day at the pool. This is what it looked like on the way to the pool the first day.The life guard in the blanket had to save Jourdon on the first day of swimming. He was playing on his kick board while his teacher was helping another child. His board got away from him and was going out to the deep end so Jourdon just went in after it. He went under a couple of times before she got to him but he was fine when she pulled him out and he got right back in. His teacher stoped helping the class right then and taught him how to bob back to the shallow end. It was a little scary and I am grateful she was so attentive and was doing her job so well. This is Jourdon with his teacher Ashley. This is the second year he has had her as a teacher.
He really likes her and really tries to do the things she asks.
He passed his class and next year he will be a level one.

Creation

So I was getting a little down on myself for not having a great job. I didn't feel that working in construction was a good job for women and I should be doing something better with my life. Then I was read a book that my friend Tracey gave me and it changed my perspective. It is called Tribute by Nora Roberts. It is a romance novel but it is about a girl that decides to fix up her grandmothers old house. Through out the book it talks about her taking pride in her creation of making things new. I am gratful for the new perspective on work because without gratitude I can not progress. Here is some of my creation at work. We added onto a duplex in Thayne to make it a fourplex.

This is the outside of one unit. I helped with the siding, facia, and rock work. This is one of the bedrooms upstairs. I helped with sheetrock, trim, paint and doors. This is the front room. I helped just a tiny bit on the railing. This is the master bath. I helped with the tile work and grout. This is the three bedroom entrances in the upstairs. Bathroom upstairs and laundry. This is the kitchen and dinning room.View from the entrance in to the dinning.

Jourdon's Imaginary Friend

When ever we go places Jourdon brings along his imaginary friend. His name is Jar Jar Binks. Sometime Jar Jar has babies which I sat on in the back seat of the truck the other day. I don't know what Jar Jar looks like to Jourdon but this is what I see when I think of him.

At least he is a happy character.

Spider Man

Jourdon loves to go get shaved ice at the Snoasis. His favorite flavor is Spiderman which is red and blue raspberry mixed in a swirl. I remember getting shaved ice when we were little. So it is fun letting him do the same.
He enjoys spending his dollar from work.

Meet Shane

Meet Shane...

Shane is a boy that moved in to the trailer next to our work. He came with his parents from Rock Springs. He had been at their new house for about three weeks when my dad witnessed his father kicking him in the stomach as hard as he could and smacking him in the head while he was laying down on the ground. His dad was mad at him because he got dirty in the mud. This is a picture of him the day after it happened July 16th 2009. He had a large cut over his eye and several smaller cuts on his forhead. I am sure that his stomach was bruised a lot. We talked to the cops about it and they went to his home and checked on him. His parents told the cops that he has had a stroke and that he was riding is bike on the grass and fell off and hurt himself. So nothing was done to protect him. After that he was gone for three weeks and we never saw him again before moving jobs.

I think about him often and wonder why he we placed in my life path. If anything he is a reminder to me that my life is great, that I am truley blessed to be born in the family that I was. He reminds me to love my son a little more and to not be upset over the little things. If we do choose our trials before we come to this earth what an amazing spirit this young boy has.

Time to cut the grass.

We got home for lunch today and there was a horse standing in the field eating (that is right he was standing). I didn't realize how deep the field was until you compair it to the horse. Looks like it is time to cut the grass or get more horses.

Poor Jourdon

Jourdon woke up at 6:00am with the stomach flu. After spending several hours in the bathroom using the garbage can while on the toilet this is how I found him in my room.

I move him to his bed so he didn't get legs cramps while he was sleeping. He felt much better after he woke up. Maybe tomorrow we will make it back to work.

Our New Nephew Rayden Greg Dana

Rayden Greg Dana

We were blessed with a new nephew on July 8th 2009 (07/08/09) at 10:09pm. He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 18 inches long. He is possible the cutest baby I have seen for quite a while. I can't wait for him to come stay in Star Valley. I know that his dad sure is missing him this week.

Jourdon's Bicycle

Jourdon has a spiderman bicycle. This is what it looked like the first time he rode a two wheeler. I pulled him all the way down the lane at Ashley's house to the bus stop. It took us over thirty minutes and we didn't make it in time for the boys to get off the bus. Luckily the bus driver saw us and let them off anyways.

I love it when he wears a helmet he is so dorky and cute at the same time it makes me smile.

Now that he has been home and has his own bicycle, with a little practice this is what he looks like.

GO JOURDON!!
